ArticlesGeologists rely on their ability to keep accurate records of every borehole that they have in place. For many years the only way they had of keeping track of this information was using a paper and pencil to chart every reading. Of all the tasks that must be undertaken in the field, keeping accurate records of every new borehole and the progress being made as it is drilled is probably the most difficult and time consuming. The number of companies that are involved in the drilling of a variety of wells looking for everything from natural gas and oil to water has been steadily increasing for many years. When you are drilling for petroleum you need to have access to a wealth of information before you start to actually drill the well. Anytime you sink a new well you are required to keep a well log, this information is used to track every inch of the well so that you can provide the government with any information they require. Every time your survey team goes out into the field to drill a new borehole they are going to have to create a well log. |
